Before you start Learning 2 point 1

Page history last edited by jennifer 15 years, 6 months ago

Before you get started, here are a couple of things you should know about this program.

First, you will not have to do a blog for your postings.  We have created a blog that you can simply comment to and those paragraphs will count as your participation.  If you do blog/or want to blog about this just like 23 things, that is great!.  All that we ask is that you add a link to your post about each item in the comment field about each thing on the Maryland Learning blog.

IMPORTANT:  Please comment to this wiki with your name and blog name or nickname you plan to use when commenting to the Maryland Learing blog.  See below to see my nickname listed in the comments.  Thanks!  Oops, you can't comment on this wiki!  Please use the same blog name or nickname when commenting to the Maryland Learning blog.  Some of you selected your nickname when you registered and others missed that step.  If you need any help or a reminder just email Jennifer.  :-)

Usernames:

During Learning 2.0 many folks had concerns about their infomation spreading and their multiple identies on different sites you are asked to sign up to use as part of the project.   You may want to come up with one consistent unique alias for your library web brand.

And three or four passwords with both numbers and letters.  Then rotate the passwords between sites to make it easier for you to remember then.

Also remember to bookmark a site after you signed onto the service as this may save you some typing of information each time you visit the site.  Consider using a learning 2.1 tool such as del.icio.us to store your bookmarks for the sites you find useful.

**Eastern Shore / Western MD Folks - In order to receive Contact Hours, please fill out this tracking log as you make your way through the program.  Once you finish, just submit it to Jennifer Ranck (either through the totes or via email - jennifer at esrl.org).  Thanks!

Harford County Staff:  Please remember to keep a copy of your comments to each of the "things" and submit a Continuing Ed - Record of Attendance (CEUs) form to Maurice Coleman when you have completed the program.  One way to make sure you have a copy is to finish your thoughts and print screen.  If you have any questions, just send an email to Maurice.  Thanks.
